Sunday, the perfect day to unwind with a cup of coffee. That's what you might think, but you'll be surprised to find that a lot of cafés in Helsinki are closed on Sundays.
Luckily, not all. Here are nine cafés that will tend to your coffee needs even on the day of rest.
1. Kahvila Rakastan
This charming vegan café is open on Sundays. Beautiful setting in an old villa, yet right in the center of Helsinki, across from the National Museum.
Mannerheimintie 13
2. Fazer Café
Fazer Café is a chain of coffee shops. They have several locations and many of them are open on Sundays. Try one of these:
Kluuvikatu
Bulevardi
Kamppi
Stockmann
3. Roasberg
Right across from the railway station, this café/bar is open late even on Sundays.

A cup of coffee and an almond croissant? Can do. Levain's locations in Punavuori and Töölö are both open on Sundays.
Punavuori: Pursimiehenkatu 29-31

Located on Esplanadi, you can't get much more central than this. Pop in for a coffee or lunch.

7. Café Succèss
This sister café of Café Esplanad is also open on Sundays. If you're looking for lunch, try their creamy salmon soup.

8. Café Engel
This Helsinki classic is open every day of the week. Pay a visit while sightseeing – it's located right by the Senate Square.
